This sweet, easy drinking wine is packed with fruits such as pear and apricot balanced with floral and honey tones. The relative acidity of Riesling compliments spicy foods such as Thai and Middle Eastern cuisine, while the fruity and floral hints work well with seafood, ham, and simple chicken or fish dishes. The sweetness of this wine also makes it one of the very few whites which can be paired with chocolate. This wine works well with wide ranges of cheeses from the soft fresh varieties of cream cheese, through the semi-soft ripeness of Havarti, all the way to blue-veins such as Stilton. Rich cream sauces and red meat should be avoided. Best served at casual gatherings, as a sipping wine, or as a dessert wine.
